Misc stuff
I almost forgot to say that I finished the pair of blue fetching gloves for my coworker! Here is a pic of them almost done (sorry don't have a completed pic):
They turned out very nice... really really soft. I used a yarn called Sublime. It has some silk in it, which I think is why it's super luxurious, even more so than the Cashsoft DK. :-)
AND I finished that purple chenille scarf for Megan, and gave it to her just tonight - she loved it!!!!
A really quick knit, and easy! Just CO 10 sts on US15 needles and basically used the whole skein(no fringe). I don't know the brand of yarn, it was a gift from Jessica.
Oh, and I forgot to share, Cynthia invented the coolest thing ever: swatching at work! LOL... I had knit a swatch for my upcoming hourglass sweater, and she grabbed it, went into the bathroom, got it wet, and then at my desk we did this:
Pushpins! Genius, no? That's why she is the most smartest. :-) (the yarn is Knit One, Crochet Too's 'Parfait Solids')
OK well thats it for now, hope everyone has a good rest of their weekends.

Chenille-o-rama
So! Blogger finally made me switch over to the "new" blogger. It seems alright so far, I am just glad my percent bars code transferred over okay.
TGIF!
Lets see, what should I share first.... OK, how about this lovely skein of cotton chenille that cynthia sold me???
I wound it into a nice neat ball last night, in preparation for it's journey to become a washcloth (the pattern from Mason-Dixon Knitting).
And... finally going to knit up this purple chenille yarn that Jessica gave me a while back, it's going to be a simple scarf for my friend Megan! (P.S. knitting it on wooden needles that used to belong to my grandma!)
Also: I cooked a corned beef the other day. (Me? Cook???? wow!)
And I broke down and had to buy new jeans yesterday, since my fav pair got a hole in them... boo. Luckily I had a giftcard to kohls, and finally found a pair I liked after an hour or so of trying stuff on:
They arent too bad. I am just happy cuz they are long enough.
OK anyway, ... hope y'all have a good weekend.

Super Speed
I made a baby hat in 2 days! lol.... I dont know what came over me, I just really wanted to get it done. It's my own creation, I used the yarn harlot's guidelines to determine a size for my cousin's little girl. Used 2 balls of Rowan Cashsoft DK, one pink one purple. I cast on 90 sts, and did k2,p2 ribbing for 3 1/4 inches. (I really just stopped when I felt like it was long enough, haha). Then I did stockinette stitch for awhile, changing colors from pink to purple and back whenever I felt like it. I wanted a random pattern. So i did stripes for like another 3 1/4 inches or so, and then began decreases. I divided my 90 sts by 9, which gives me 10, so I started with (k2tog, k8), knitting a plain row in between, and then doing k2tog, knit 7 (one less than the previous decrease)... doing the classic spiral decrease on the top (or trying to). I had to switch to dpns as it shrunk. I finished it off with a crappy pompom I made. I really need to work on making those! But it looks alright. I love this yarn.
OK Now I gotta start a pair of fetching for my coworker!!!! I <3 knitting :)

Woot!
I went to the yarn store today!!!!!!!!!!! With Cynthia and Angela. Mmmm, yarn. I did good though, I only bought yarn I needed to make gifts for others. :)
A ball of cascade 220 to make a hat for my neighbor, and two balls of deliciously soft Sublime yarn (Cashmere merino silk aran) to make a pair of fetching for a coworker... we are all knitting something for her since she had to put her dog down this week. :( Poor girl, i know what that feeling is like. (Since my dog went earlier last year).
Anyways, happy tuesday, hope everyone's having a good week so far!
